To celebrate the unveiling of The Greater Richmond ARC’s new name—SOAR365, an assembly of talent including strategy writer Jay Sandusky, BLTdesign and the animation videography team of Sweet Sadie were commissioned to produce an engaging launch video that resonates with the public, staff, and stakeholders alike.

Approach

 The video delivers a clear yet captivating narrative of The Greater Richmond ARC’s rich history, paired with powerful, metaphorical visuals that seamlessly connect to the new name and logo.

Visual Style 

Utilizing stop-motion animation with cut paper techniques, the video brings to life the origami bird featured in the logo in a natural and visually striking way. Viewers embark on a first-person journey through a world crafted entirely from paper and origami. The story begins in a seemingly flat, two-dimensional landscape that gradually unfolds into a dynamic, three-dimensional environment. The continual folding and unfolding of paper drives the narrative forward, culminating in a stunning transformation where the paper artfully morphs into the fully realized SOAR365 logo on screen.
